Last week Kindergarten students went on the first of their inquiry-based excursions based on the theme, ‘Where does our food come from?’, which they’ve been exploring throughout the term.

The students travelled to Landsdale Farm where they went on a farm tractor/train ride, held and fed the guinea pigs and rabbits, talked and danced with some cheeky birds and learned all about worms and worm farms from Farmer Ash.

Later, the class got to pat a hen and were given a lesson on how hens and roosters look different. Next, they went to see if the hens had laid any eggs and there were 3 in the hay! At the end of the day, the students made a collage using some real sheep or alpaca wool from the animals they had seen earlier.
