Ninety members of the Christ Church community took part in the Sids and Kids Sunshine Beach Run last weekend, helping support families who have either lost a child to stillbirth, miscarriage or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Year 12 boarder Tom Jones was our first student to cross the 5km finishing line in a time of roughly 25 minutes taking out 9th place overall, and Christ Church Grammar School once again claimed the ‘highest participation’ trophy despite some very tired boys at the end.

“It was fantastic to have a parent join the run this year – a special well done to Chris Mellick for completing the course,” said Director of the Residential Community, Mr Brad Downing.

Over 1000 runners and walkers came together for this year’s event held at City Beach to tackle either the 1km, 3km or 5km race, with many wearing red and white to show their support for impacted families.

Funds raised from the event will assist organisers Red Nose in their quest to reduce the number of childhood deaths.
