On Thursday 18 February, the Year 4 boys participated in a team-building day at HBF Stadium. The day was planned to provide the boys with an opportunity to get to know each other, test boundaries, and collaborate to solve problems.

“As we watched the boys in the activities, we noticed them expressing their ideas and trialling different problem solving techniques,” said Megan Walsh, Year 4 Teacher.

“The boys were able to incorporate a variety of strategies including listening, sharing ideas and co-operating. This is very much in line with our message for the Year 4 boys this year – be a problem solver not a problem maker,” said Jay Pyefinch, Year 4 Teacher.

As Year 4 in an intake year, there are 51 new boys in the cohort. The aim of the day is to help facilitate a quick ‘settling in’ period and strengthen relationships in a neutral and fun environment.

“The excursion was really exciting, we all worked together to solve problems.” William Johansson-Jones (Year 4)

“I think it was fun, educational and I made new friends.” Jarvis Davies (Year 4)
