Next week, the School will play a key role in the Assistant Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Perth, the Right Reverend Hans Christiansen’s, ‘Pilgrimage of Joy,’ a four-day journey connecting Anglican schools across the city.

Bishop Hans will walk approximately 90 kilometres between schools, spending time with students and staff at each stop. The pilgrimage seeks to connect schools to their shared Anglican identity and encourage reflection on the theme of joy. As part of the journey, Bishop Hans will also spend nights in school chapels.

At Christ Church, the visit will be marked by a Boarders and Community Service on Wednesday 6 May from 6.15pm to 6.45pm in the School Chapel, to which members of the Christ Church community are warmly invited to attend.

The following morning, Bishop Hans will lead a homily at our Preparatory School Assembly. Year 3 students will then accompany him on a part of the walk as he departs the School.

Bishop Hans will continue on foot to St George’s Cathedral in the Perth CBD, where the pilgrimage will conclude with a Eucharist attended by representatives from each participating school, including our School Prefects. The Cathedral Service will be held on Thursday 7 May from 6.00pm to 7.00pm, and members of our wider community are warmly invited to attend.
