It was a joyful and vivid week at the Preparatory School as students proudly welcomed families to two much-loved events – Open Night and Grandparents’ Day.

Families were invited to campus for Open Night, featuring the student art exhibition Australian Made: The Art of Us. The annual exhibition showcased creative work developed over three terms, including drawings, paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces. Each artwork explored the theme of Australian identity, highlighting the students’ imagination, skill, and thoughtful expression.

The boys enthusiastically led their families on tours of the classrooms and learning spaces. Pop-up musical performances enlivened the hallways, while students showcased displays in the Innovation Lab, featuring LEGO designs, interactive robotics, and 3D-printed models. In the Mandarin classroom, guests experienced Chinese calligraphy and a traditional tea ceremony.

The following day, the School welcomed more than 400 guests for Grandparents’ Day. Grandparents enjoyed a special assembly and morning tea, before visiting classrooms where students proudly shared their learning and artwork from the Art Exhibition.

Together, these events highlight the vibrant, connected community of the Preparatory School, where creativity is encouraged, learning is shared, and strong partnerships between students, families and teachers are at the heart of school life.
