Christ Church continues chess dominance at Four Schools Tournament
Published on: 12 June 2025
Christ Church has once again claimed top spot at the Four Schools Chess Tournament, extending an unbeaten streak that commenced in 2012.
Despite being a newly formed team, the boys showcased exceptional strategic skill and focus throughout the competition. The winning lineup included William Rogers and Oscar Narvaez (Year 12), Tommy Crage and Henry Stokes (Year 11), and Archie Darlow, Mason Heavens, Tristan McDonald, Oscar Gao, and Ares Yin (Year 10).
Hosted by Scotch College, the tournament served as an important warm-up for the upcoming PSA Chess Championship in Week 2 next term.
At Christ Church, our vibrant Chess program nurtures students from the Early Learning Community through to Senior School, cultivating essential skills such as critical thinking, strategic planning, concentration, and patience. These qualities not only enrich academic achievement but also foster personal growth.
Congratulations to the team on their outstanding performance. We wish them the best of luck at the PSA Chess Championship.
