Last Friday, our Senior School students proudly unveiled their work at the annual Design and Technology Exhibition. The event celebrates their creativity, skill, and craftsmanship, showcasing the wide variety of projects they have developed and brought to life throughout the year.

This year’s exhibition featured more than 200 entries across 13 categories, ranging from sleek bar tables and workbenches to precision-crafted spearguns and traditional blanket boxes. Each category recognised a student for exceptional achievement, highlighting excellence in both design and execution.

Head of Design and Technology, Alec Barbour, said, “Many of the tables and desks on display would not look out of place in a professional showroom. It shows the impressive standard of work produced by our young designers.”

Our D&T courses build skills progressively each year, encouraging students to take on increasingly advanced and distinctive projects. This development was clear in the exhibition, from passive speaker boxes in Year 7 and trowels in Year 8, to CO₂ dragsters in Year 9 and segmented bowl turning in Year 10.

We are incredibly proud of our students – their time and dedication have led to outstanding results. This exhibition is a true celebration of their achievements and of the guidance provided by our wonderful D&T staff.
