A swarm of excitement for the production ‘Life of Insects’
Published on: 21 May 2026
Christ Church has been brought to life by a swarm of insects as anticipation builds for The Midnite Youth Theatre Company’s upcoming production of Life of Insects.
To promote the show, cast members recently visited the Preparatory School, giving students a fun behind-the-scenes glimpse into the imaginative world of the production. From curious beetles to busy ants and colourful butterflies, the visit sparked plenty of curiosity and imagination among younger students.
Performed by talented Years 7 to 9 students, Life of Insects promises a captivating theatrical experience filled with creativity, humour and thought-provoking storytelling. Set in a wonderfully absurd insect world, the show explores themes of power, greed, war and the search for meaning through the eyes of tiny creatures reflecting the complexities of human society.
Suitable for all ages, Life of Insects will run from Wednesday 10 June to Saturday 13 June at the Subiaco Arts Centre.
Adding to the buzz, the Midnite Youth Theatre Company is currently running a colouring-in competition for students from Kindy to Year 6, inspired by the show. Entries close on Monday 25 May, with two lucky winners each receiving two tickets to the Saturday 13 June performance.
