Congratulations to our Year 12 students Chris Berg, Joshua Harmer, Jaxon Heapes, William Lewis and Callum Shaw on achieving the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a globally recognised program that challenges young people to grow, learn, and contribute to their communities. It encourages personal development, leadership, resilience, and service through a series of structured activities.

Over the past year, these students have shown remarkable dedication and perseverance in completing all five sections of the Award:

Voluntary Service: Giving back to the community through unpaid work with a charity or not-for-profit organisation for at least one hour each week
Physical Recreation: Building fitness and teamwork through regular physical activity for at least one hour each week
Skills: Developing personal interests or talents by dedicating at least one hour each week to learning and improvement
Adventurous Journey: Completing a four-day, three-night expedition focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience
• Gold Residential Project: Taking part in a five-day, four-night program away from home, working with new people on a shared project or challenge

More than 100 students from across Western Australia attended the awards ceremony, where each recipient was personally congratulated by Governor Chris Dawson.

The School is very proud of these students for their commitment and for the example they set within our community.

Students interested in beginning their Duke of Edinburgh journey can start at the Bronze level in Year 9. To learn more or get involved, please contact our Director of Activities, at nsaggers@ccgs.wa.edu.au.
