Beyond Queenslea Drive is the exchange program at Christ Church, providing Year 10 boys with the unique opportunity to be immersed in school environments around the world. 2015 has seen boys travel to the United Kingdom, South Africa, USA, New Zealand, France and China.

Harry Vijayasekaran (Year 10) recently spent six weeks at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia. On his return, Harry wrote:

St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia, is a school much like ours. It was my pleasure to travel there as an exchange student this autumn. The experience was incredible, it was a fantastic opportunity afforded to myself and other Year 10s by the School.

Some highlights of the trip were visiting Washington DC, exploring different perspectives of the world, attending American History and Literature classes and getting VIP tickets to two concerts.

St. Christopher’s was very accommodating, providing me with many opportunities such as running track, taking photography and philosophy classes, and learning with people of different ages. Whilst I would be considered a Year 9 or 10 in the US, all of my classes were Year 11 or 12 courses, resulting in a more cultured and mature learning experience.

The family I stayed with was incredibly generous and I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. I urge anyone presented with the option of taking part in the Beyond Queenslea Drive exchange program to accept, you will not regret it.

Details of exchange opportunities for Year 10 boys in 2016 will be available in August. For further information about the program, please contact Director of Activities, Mr Neil Saggers on 9442 1557 or click here.
