Christ Church’s jazz musicians will be performing at The Ellington Jazz Club on Tuesday 23 June, and parents and friends are encouraged to get their tickets, before the performance is sold-out.

The event, now in its sixth year, will feature four brackets of jazz standards and contemporary repertoire from Jazz Bands I and II, the Jazz Combo and the Saxophone Quartet. These ensembles feature students from Years 7 to 12 and will be directed by Mr Paul Millard.

“Paul has played professionally for over 25 years, including performing as a backing musician to many international and local artists like Ray Charles, Natalie Cole and Shirley Bassey,” said Mr Kevin Gillam, Director of Music.

“He has an abundance of experience and knowledge to share with the boys and has prepared them for their performance at The Ellington extremely well. This will be a superb evening of jazz with some very talented students on display”.
