Water polo player and Christ Church old boy George Ford (’10) recently headed across to Croatia to join the Croatian Water Polo League.

George says the Croatians and the Serbs are the best in the world at the sport. “It’s like AFL over there. They throw them in the water at a young age.”

George receives a salary and an apartment in the seaside Croatian town of Rijeka whilst with team VK Primorje.

Brother Andrew (’12) who also attended Christ Church and represented Australia with George at the Fina World Championships this year in Budapest says “There was a habit of success at the School. We won the PSA competition when I was in Years 10 and 12. Also, seeing George in Australian teams caught my interest.”

“Nick O’Halloran was a great coach” says George.
