On Friday, 140 Old Boys gathered at Optus Stadium for the Old Boys’ Association Annual Lunch. This cherished event brings together old boys across generations to network, share stories, and hear from inspiring speakers. More than just a reunion, it is a tradition that nurtures the strong, lifelong community spirit that makes Christ Church special.

We were honoured to welcome the Hon. Julie Bishop as our first-ever non-old boy speaker. She is Australia’s former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, and Member for Curtin since 1998. Ms Bishop captivated attendees with her warmth, wit, and reflections on her distinguished career. She was refreshingly candid.

Mark Morrissy was interviewed at the event, reflecting on his journey from graduating in 1979 to returning as a teacher in 1990. He now serves as Deputy Principal / Head of Senior School and has seen the School evolve over the years, offering personal memories and insights from his time as both a student and a staff member. He will conclude his tenure at Christ Church this year. We are pleased to announce that he will be honoured as an OBA Fellow at the upcoming OBA Assembly, in recognition of his outstanding contributions.

The OBA is proud to be leading the fundraising for the OBA Pavilion Challenge. This bold initiative aims to raise $2.5 million for a new sports pavilion at the St John’s Wood II playing fields. A key highlight of this campaign has been the successful Silent Auction, which drew generous bids from our community. We extend our sincere thanks to all Pavilion sponsors and door prize donors, listed here, for their wonderful support. To learn more about the OBA Pavilion Challenge and donate, click here.
