Anzac Centenary Service – Major General Williams AM

Staff and students from the whole school came together for an Anzac Centenary Service on Thursday 23 April. Old boys currently or formerly serving in the Australian Defence Forces were invited to attend as VIPs with Major General Craig Williams AM (1974), Former Commander of the Second Division, invited to address the assembly. Major General Williams reflected on the lives and experiences of the soldiers sent to war and laid a wreath at the memorial constructed for the purpose. The Christ Church Cadet Unit (CCGSCU) supported the commemorations with a catafalque party mount, commanded by CDT, CPL Owain Chandler. Staff member CAPT Duane Nurse recited the Ode, from For the Fallen by Robert Laurance Binyon and music teacher Mr Fletcher Cox played The Last Post.
