Ian Macpherson

Ian Macpherson_2Long-time OBA treasurer Ian Macpherson (1974) provided an update on his own activities and those of his three old boy sons and his daughter. Ian exited his chartered accountancy career and practice (with fellow old boy Rob Parker) in 2011 after 30 years in the profession. Ian now serves as a non-executive director on a number of ASX listed companies across the resources and healthcare sectors, in addition to running the family LED lighting import business. Ian enjoys being a ‘weekend farmer’ on his family property in Toodyay.

Sam Macpherson (2007) qualified last year with the double degree Commerce/Law. In 2011, he took a year off his studies to follow his passion of cricket with an extended summer in northern UK. Post-graduation Sam started his legal career this year with Perth based mid-tier corporate law firm Price Sierakowski.

Tim Macpherson (2001) who qualified as a CA has worked both in capital markets and the profession before moving to London and joining the Bacardi Martini Group. Currently Senior Brand Manager (Whisky & Cognac) Tim is enjoying significant European travel and also spent 4 months on a secondment in the Tokyo office. Since setting up in London, Tim completed the Paris marathon last year and the Uto Swim/Run event in Stockholm in May.

Lachie Macpherson (2009) is in his final semester at UWA, Commerce-Communications. Lachlan has combined his linguistic (Mandarin) and financial skills with a bent for marketing and spent a year of his degree studying at the University of Sydney. He is working part-time with Be Media based in Cottesloe, managed by Scotch OC Jordan Fogarty. Lachlan continues his association with CCGS via coaching appointments currently with the 2nd XVIII. His passion for football continues on the field with Collegians AFC. His second passion for travel continues when later this year he is heading to the USA with a couple of former school mates for 6 months work/travel.

Daughter Kate (PLC 2003) recently married Shaun Hardcastle (2000) thereby keeping it all in the family.
