J Smith-Wright and L Harley

Former Christ Church Army Cadets Lachlan Harley (2009) (pictured right) and Jake Smith-Wright (2010) graduated from RMC Duntroon in December having completed their degrees at ADFA. Jake was promoted to the Officer Rank of Lieutenant in the RAR (Royal Australian Regiment), which encompasses an infantry posting with one of the Battalions as a Platoon Commander in charge of 30 soldiers. Lachlan also graduated as a Lieutenant and has been posted to Royal Australian Signals where he will be further trained and developed as a leader in the communications area of the Army. The boys said their success was in no small part due to former Co-ordinator of Army Mick O’Sullivan and his inspiration and mentorship of cadets. They thanked Mick for all the positive impact he had on not just their lives, but on the lives of all the ‘dopey bastards’ over the years. Mick said: “They were both outstanding cadets at CCGS and it is extremely rewarding to hear of their dedication and successes in their new careers in the ADF.”
