Ernst & Young has recently announced Lockie Cooke (2007) as the Western Australian EY’s Social Entrepreneur of The Year, an annual award that commends efforts for innovation in the community sector. Lockie founded ICEA (Indigenous Communities, Education and Awareness), a not-for-profit organisation committed to Indigenous reconciliation, in 2006 when he was 16. ICEA brings together young Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to create positive experiences and promote cultural understanding of the shared history of Australians. ONE of the brains behind the viral video campaign “I Trust You”, Lockie believed his nomination honoured ICEA’s innovative ways in generating youth engagement and social change.
