Ben Hooper (2012) is studying Integrated Design and Business Management at UWA, which ‘morphed’ from the Architecture degree he commenced last year. Ben is currently working on a project where his team must change the way a 2m x 2m space in the Architecture building is used. Their solution is to convert a balcony space into a window, taking advantage of a picturesque view. Ben is pictured laser cutting polygons from coloured Perspex, which he said he could not do without the support of CCGS and its equipment in the Design and Technology Department. Ben spoke highly of his time in teacher Alec Barbour’s class in 2012, where woodwork was his top WACE subject. The TV cabinet at Ben’s home is the one he made in Year 11!
