Kim LEIGHTON

Kim Leighton (1976) has been working as the Chief Scientific Officer for Food Industry Asia (FIA), based in Singapore, since June 2013. Kim has overall responsibility for providing industry support on regulatory harmonisation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and reducing technical barriers to trade. He readily admits the role is very challenging, working with a complex regulatory system across Asia and in a highly diverse cultural environment. At the FIA AGM in April, the not-for-profit organisation launched the regional food industry guide on front of pack labelling, which Kim developed over the past six months. To view the guide, click here.
