Shaun Bagley

Shaun Bagley (1967) had an interesting OBA experience recently. He works in the Department of Finance in Canberra and was visiting Northern Territory Land Councils in his role overseeing governance for Australian Government bodies. Shaun went to Alice Springs (Central Land Council), Lajamanu (for a bush meeting of the CLC), Darwin (Northern Land Council), the Tiwi Islands of Bathurst and Melville (Tiwi Land Council) and Groote Eylandt (Anindilyakwa Land Council) over a two and half week period. At Groote Eylandt, Shaun was greeted by Lionel Jaragba (1981) and Mark Hewitt (1973). Pictured here (left to right) are Shaun, Lionel and Mark at an impromptu meeting of the ‘Groote Eylandt branch of the OBA’ in April! Lionel and Mark are Deputy Chair and CEO respectively, of the Anindilyakwa Land Council. Shaun said: “The trip was quite an experience on many levels, particularly since NT politics was in uproar over the resignation of three Indigenous MPs from the government and an upcoming NT by-election (won by the CLP government to retain their majority)”.
