Michael Robinson (1970), an award winning author, has just had his first book of poetry, The Tiger in the Vineyard, published by Ginninderra Press. Michael has published poetry in numerous journals. In 2009 he was awarded the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize and he was runner up for the 2007 Tom Collins Poetry Prize. Both award-winning poems are included in the book. Michael’s writing is shaped by wide personal experience of pressing social issues. Many draw on his experiences of work with homeless and at risk young people.
Since 2010 Michael has lived in Donnybrook where the beauty of the South West, though far from immune to social problems, is well suited to writing. Before relocating to the country he worked for many years for the Department of Health in Perth. The Tiger in the Vineyard is available from major on-line sellers including Amazon (a Kindle edition is available for people who like e-books), The Book Depository and Fishpond. It can be ordered from the publisher at www.ginninderrapress.com.au.
