  • House Swimming Carnival
  • Reminders for parents
  • Mouthguard offer for students

On Tuesday evening we witnessed a very keenly contested House Swimming Carnival after a three year break due to COVID-19 protocols. Romsey claimed victory from Wolsey and there was great competition in all events throughout the program. Next week we will commence another component of the Beatty Cup competition, the House Arts, where boys can reveal their talents in Public Speaking, Chess, or eSports. These activities can provide a valuable opportunity for boys from all year levels to both witness, and participate in, activities that can be used and enjoyed throughout their lives.

As the school year settles into its regular routines there are some important reminders for parents:

The first relates to the Christ Church student card, the only means by which your son can borrow library books and purchase items from the Canteen and Bookroom. It can also be used to travel on public transport. Its use is essential in assisting the School to operate a cash-free environment, and without it, a student’s ability to access essential service is limited.

Secondly, to avoid your son losing valuable personal items, please ensure clear labelling of all clothing items and sports equipment. The use of a standard black ‘Artline 70’ to write your son’s name, initial and surname, on the garment tag or hems of clothing can improve the chances of that item being returned.

Thirdly the School recommends that boys who are outside during the school day wear a Christ Church school hat or cap, particularly at lunchtime and at afternoon sporting sessions. Sunscreen is also available at several prominent locations around the school, PE office, Student Services Office (Refectory), Boarding Houses and Health Centre.

Christ Church Grammar School is offering all boys in Years 7 to 12 the services of an experienced Dental Prosthetist from Galadent, to attend to their mouthguard requirements. We are providing this service to help alleviate the need for parents to take care of their son’s required mouthguard for all contact sports. Younger siblings are also welcomed to make a booking.

Mouthguard impressions will take place on campus, on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March 2023. For further information on how to make a booking, please visit the year group notices.
