On Monday, Year 11 boys and their parents had an opportunity to discuss their progress with teachers via the online parent/teacher interviews. After six weeks of learning and several assessments, this was an important opportunity to touch base to see that effective work habits have been established and all commitments are appropriately balanced. Whilst the online mode is different to the face-to-face event, the feedback about the importance of these parent/teacher interviews in whatever form is resounding.

Earlier in the week I viewed the amount of lost property that has gathered in the Student Services office. I was discussing with Co-ordinator Ms Anna Freedman, the amount of unnamed lost property that can never be returned to its rightful owner. I encourage parents to get the ‘Artline70’ marker out and name your son/s clothing items, including black school shoes and sports shoes.

Last Thursday night proved to be a tough night in the water for the Swimming Team, while hoping to continue the success of the last six years it wasn’t to be, but it did come down to the wire. At the end of the night Scotch were victors by 18.5 points, 1008 (Scotch) to 989.5 (CCGS), not a big defeat but still hard to take after the many years of success. Will Greenwood our new Head Coach, along with his staff team praised the boys for their efforts after the carnival and there is already lots of positive talk about the opportunity to get the Tregonning Trophy back in 2024.

On Saturday, the CCGS Rowing Club will hit the water in the annual Head of the River Regatta. The day starts with the Year 9 Quads rowing over 1000 metres. The quads are followed by the Year 10 Quad and Eights over 1500 metres and then finally the Senior Eights over the gruelling 2000 metres. We wish all crews the best of luck on Saturday as their hard work, dedication and long hours hopefully give them the opportunity to have their best race of the season.
