- Celebrating Boarding
- Anglican Eucharist services
- Grooming and presentation requirements
This week we have been celebrating boarding. It has been a great opportunity to celebrate those that contribute to making boarding a home away from home. I congratulate all our staff, from the boarding co-ordinators, housemothers, and the catering team, as well as our students and boarding families who make it as great as it is. When someone mentions they were (or are) a boarder it always tends to lead to questions of “where are you from?”, and usually, “where is that?” for those who don’t know places like Wyalkatchem or Kulikup, or even Dirt Hartog Island. I for one, have had to find a few of these places on the map. It is great to see the diverse places our boarders call home and the photos shared on our school Facebook page this week have been great, well done boys!
In line with recent government guidelines, our boarding students have been able to return to their normal rooms, boarding parents are now able to sign in and visit their sons in the boarding houses and there are now more opportunities for boys to be granted leave.
Much like our Years 7 to 10 boys who experienced a short Anglican Eucharist in Week 8, next week our Years 11 and 12 boys will also participate in this significant Anglican service. These small ceremonies have been designed as a traditional Anglican service, but in condensed form. They have included: a hymn, Bible reading, prayers, and the Eucharist or Holy Communion. Year 11 boys will participate on Monday and Year 12 boys on Tuesday. Tuesday’s service will be led by our Archbishop, the Most Reverend Kay Goldsworthy.
Important reminders
- As the end of Term 2 looms near, it is a timely reminder that we expect all of our students to adhere to our grooming and presentation requirements. Good personal presentation is an important life skill. Please see here for clarification on our school expectations.
- PSA Sport is returning in full, please ensure you check your son’s fixtures, training dates and game times/locations here.
- Should your son be unwell, we ask that he remains at home, even if your COVID-19 test is negative, your son must stay at home until he is asymptomatic.
