  • Swimming Carnival postponement
  • Child Safe accreditation
  • Mouthguard offer for students

It was a disappointing start to the week, with the House Swimming Carnival postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are working on a new day to host this. I was glad to be a part of the Anglicare Ambassador Launch yesterday afternoon, where we had over 50 of our boys join with nominated students from other schools to commit to being Ambassadors. Our boys will serve as Ambassadors for one year and will work with Anglicare to raise awareness of the services they offer and the communities they support. I am glad that we are able to continue our partnership with Anglicare this year and educate our boys on the importance of giving back and contributing to society.

Child Safe accreditation
Over the last 18 months we have been working with Child Wise to ensure our policies, procedures and practices provide safety for all our students and the School recently attained accreditation.

In addition to the development and improvements to our policies and codes of conduct, this journey has also supported us to:

  • Increase ‘student voice’ through initiatives including the introduction of our Student Representative Council (SRC);
  • Appoint and train 12 staff ‘Child Safety Champions’;
  • Increase Child Safety training for all our staff;
  • Refine our staff recruitment and induction process;
  • Improve campus security;
  • Introduce Senior School Parent Forums; and
  • Review our student health and wellbeing curriculum.

If you would like to learn more about child safety at Christ Church there will be a Parent Forum on 18 May at 9.00am. An invitation will be sent closer to the date.

Mouthguard offer for students
Christ Church Grammar School is offering all boys in Years 7 to 12 the services of an experienced Dental Prosthetist from Galadent, to attend to their mouthguard requirements. We are providing this service to help alleviate the need for parents to take care of their son’s required mouthguard for all contact sports. Younger siblings are also welcome to make a booking.

Mouthguard impressions will take place on campus, straight after school on Tuesday 9, Thursday 11 and Tuesday 16 March 2021.

School App

This year we have launched a school mobile app, available via the Apple App store and Google Play store. The App provides parents with quick and easy access to the CCGS World weekly newsletter, year group notices, absentees, calendar, sporting fixtures and lots more. During the term we will be delivering important information via the App so please follow this link for more information on how to download the app and where to find your login information.
