- Looking towards Term 4
We have arrived at the end of another great, yet extremely busy term, and I can tell that the boys and the staff are ready for a break. We have been incredibly fortunate to hold most of our planned Term 3 events and we can only hope that this continues for Term 4.
This week the Preparatory School has been celebrating its annual Week of the Arts, a very significant week in the calendar during which we invite the boys’ families to witness their creative talents. Throughout the week, each class has performed a concert, showcasing their musical abilities. The Year 6 boys have also presented their play Rock Bottom to some highly appreciative audiences. The Week of the Arts will culminate at 1.30pm this afternoon with the very popular House Shout performances. The theme for this year is Colours – with all Houses performing a song with a colour in the title, artist name or lyrics.
Term 4 is when our Year 12 cohort approach the final stage of their school life and look beyond Christ Church. It is the time when we take the opportunity to acknowledge what a wonderful group of boys they have been and wish them well with the Valedictory celebration. It is also time when the Year 11 boys step into Prefect roles with greater responsibility and I am looking forward to seeing them grow into their roles and demonstrate the leadership that we look for from our Year 12s. We also have a significant Orientation Day planned for all boys new to the Senior School in 2021, including our current Year 6 cohort.
Again thank you for the strong support we continue to receive from our parent body, 2020 continues to be a challenging year, however, it is comforting to know that we have solid backing from our parent group.
I trust that everyone within the wider school community can enjoy the upcoming break whatever way that affects you when schools are on ‘holiday’.
Kind regards
