Last week, our Design and Technology Department hosted its annual exhibition, drawing in over 200 families to admire the creativity and dedication students have poured into their projects over the year. The exhibition highlighted an impressive range of skills, from design innovation to technical craftsmanship. You can read more here.

On the weekend, our parents came together for the Soirée on the Bay at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. This event, organised by our Parents’ Association, provided a wonderful chance for parents to connect in a relaxed, scenic setting. Recently, the Association held its Annual General Meeting, where Marika Auret was re-appointed as Chair, Alex Harrington as Vice Chair, Leanne Franco as Secretary, and Nayha Patel as Treasurer. We extend our gratitude to these parents for their commitment and look forward to their ongoing contributions to our school community.

This week, our Year 10 students embarked on their highly anticipated Venture expedition through the stunning D’Entrecasteaux and Walpole-Nornalup National Parks. Accompanied by dedicated staff members and a team of skilled outdoor professionals, they set off after weeks of careful preparation. Reports from the field suggest that the students are thriving, fully engaged in the experience, and benefiting from fine weather in the area, which has made for ideal conditions. On Monday, the whole school gathered for our annual Remembrance Day ceremony, a moment of reflection and respect. This year marks 110 years since the start of World War I, Australia’s costliest conflict and one that remains close to the School’s heart. We reflected on the sacrifice of those who have served our country in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. In particular, we recalled the legacy of our school’s founder, Canon WJ McClemans, who served as a Captain-Chaplain in the Australian Imperial Force in France during World War I.

Tomorrow, we welcome our incoming students and their families for our Orientation morning. This day is a significant milestone for our future students, as they step onto campus to meet classmates and familiarise themselves with the School. Throughout the morning, students will participate in a variety of engaging activities designed to introduce them to their new environment, helping them build connections and gain confidence for the year ahead. Parents will also join an orientation session to learn more about the exciting opportunities, programs, and support available at Christ Church. Together, we are excited to begin this journey and look forward to seeing our new cohort grow over the coming years.

This week marks another important milestone as the majority of our Year 12 students conclude their final exams. This moment caps years of dedication, growth, and academic commitment. As they complete this final step, we celebrate their resilience and achievements and wish them all the best in the journeys that lie ahead.
