  • Semester 1 Report
  • Upcoming inter-school events
  • End of term finish times

As we approach the end of Semester 1, teachers are preparing your son’s end of semester report. These reports contain a range of information based upon work completed in class, work habits or learning dispositions and assessments completed. When assessing boys for their learning, teachers use a range of formative and summative assessment tools to understand where each boy is with his learning. Formative assessment is used to monitor progress during a teaching and learning cycle. It can be used to give a student feedback about how well they have performed or what they need to do to improve. It can also help a teacher judge how much students have learnt and whether all students are able to show their ability. Summative assessment is used to make a final determination of student achievement. It usually comes at the end of a teaching and learning cycle. Summative assessments should enable students to show their ability and may be in the form of projects, presentations or tests.

Each term, boys have the opportunity to represent the School at various inter-school events. During Week 9 of Term 2, the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) Chess Competition will be held at Guildford Grammar School on Tuesday. Additionally, next Thursday, the JPSSA Cross Country Carnival takes place at Guildford Grammar School for boys in Years 3 to 6. We wish all boys representing Christ Church all the best for these upcoming events.

A reminder to all families that this week is the last week for all Co-Curricular clubs for Term 2. Parents are welcome to sign up for Term 3 clubs from Tuesday 24 June (more information will be provided closer to this date).

Next week is the last week of Term 2, and I would like to remind all families about the staggered finish times for next Friday.

Pre-Kindy to Pre-Primary – 12.00pm
Year 1 – 12.10pm
Years 2 to 3 – 12.20pm
Years 4 to 6 – 12.30pm

The Sunset Club will remain open until 6.00pm for those families requiring this service.

Congratulations to our BGM award winners!
