The Prep Winter Music Concert was held this week in the Chapel with our ensembles, orchestras and choirs performing a range of pieces to parents and families. Boys were able to showcase all their hard work and dedication to their instruments throughout the semester with an evening of music and song. Boys from Pre Primary to Year 6 who performed are to be congratulated on their efforts. Thank you to our wonderful music staff Mrs Yapp, Mrs Balfour, Mr Grech and all the peripatetic teachers who assisted in making this night a success. Read more here
Our Preparatory School Chess team travelled to Guildford Grammar School yesterday to compete in the IPSHA Inter-school Chess Tournament. It was a day of wits and strategy on the chess board with Christ Church performing exceptionally well and finishing first place overall. Congratulations to Kaleb Cameron (Year 5) for taking out the gold medal, Christian Thong (Year 6), Oliver Kang (Year 6), and Kyle Huang (Year 5) for their efforts and thank you to Mr Dawson for accompanying the boys to Guildford.
Our Inter-school Cross Country Team, consisting of boys in Years 4 to 6, are headed off to Scotch College today to compete against other PSA schools in the annual event. The boys have been training before school with the assistance of Senior School student Fergus Khoo (Year 10). Boys in Year 3 will run 1.2km, Year 4 boys will run 1.5km, Year 5 boys will run 2.0km, and Year 6 boys will run 2.5km. Well done to all boys representing the School. We wish them the best of luck.
All students in the Preparatory School will receive their Semester 1 Academic Reports on Friday afternoon. These reports indicate your son’s achievement, effort, and progress with his learning and learning dispositions. Parents and teachers recently completed the Term 2 Parent Teacher Interviews and communication regarding your son’s progress made clear. As a School we provide regular information regarding your son’s learning progress and as such, the Semester 1 reports should be seen as a summary of the learning to date.
A reminder to families that Term 2 concludes on Friday with early finish times for all year levels. I would like to thank all staff and students for their efforts and hard work in making Semester 1 enjoyable and successful. Best wishes for the Term 2 break.
Congratulations to our BGM Award winners!
