Welcome back to Term 3. I trust all families enjoyed a restful break. Term 3 is always busy with a range of activities and events occurring. Events in Term 3 include the Speaker’s Challenge finals, House Shout, ICAS Competitions, Grandparents Day, NAIDOC Week, Book Week, Science Week, Year 6 Market Day, the Year 6 Production and Open Night.

For parents of boys in Years 3 and 5, the 2026 NAPLAN results will be available for you to access in your Nexus account on Friday 24 July, using your existing credentials. As a School, we use the NAPLAN testing data as part of our broader collection of data to assist in the development of our learning programs. The Nexus portal can be accessed here. If you have any issues accessing the portal, please contact the ARC Service Desk on 9442 1787 or servicedesk@ccgs.wa.edu.au.

Registrations for the 2026 ICAS Competitions are open until 27 July. If you are interested in registering your son for the ICAS Competitions in Digital Technologies, Writing, English, Science, Spelling or Mathematics, information and registration can be found here

Each term our Parent Forums provide parents with opportunities to raise matters, ask questions, listen to guest speakers from across the School and connect with the Head of the Preparatory School. The topic for the third meeting for 2026 will cover the use of data to inform our teaching and learning including NAPLAN and standardised assessments.

As the new semester commences, we encourage all boys to read rich and stimulating literature. Mrs Gaskell and Mrs Helfgott have a wonderful knowledge of age-appropriate novels and picture books in our library and are more than happy to assist our boys in selecting books to borrow to read at home. Reading at home with your sons can have positive effects upon supporting cognitive development, improving language skills and developing a love of reading.

All our Term 3 captains, monitors and School Captain will be presented at our Friday assembly in the Chapel. I would like to congratulate and wish all these boys the best for the term ahead.

Finally, I would like to welcome all new boys and families to Christ Church, and I look forward to getting to know you as the term progresses.
