It was great to see all of our boys settle into the Christ Church Preparatory way of life, in what was a busy and hot first week. All 34 co-curricular activities are up and running and it has been great to see so many of our boys take up either before or after school pursuits. Additionally, summer sport training commenced for Years 5 and 6. All of the House, Chapel and Class Captains for Term 1 were presented to the School community, with Liam Tam, the Preparatory School Captain. I would like to congratulate all of our leaders and wish them all the very best in their roles.
All our students in Years 4 to 6 will be taking part in the swim trials today. We look forward to congratulating all those boys for their efforts and particularly those selected, who will represent the School at the upcoming Inter School Swimming Carnival.
This Friday will see the whole school come together for our first Chapel service for the year. Reverend Russell, our School Chaplain, would like to extend a warm welcome to all families and wishes to invite them to attend Chapel services throughout the year.
I would like to invite parents to join me for the Term 1 Parent Forum. These will be run each term to update families about specific focus areas and provide the opportunity to ask questions about the Preparatory School. The Term 1 Parent Forum will elaborate on the Preparatory School’s focus areas for 2024 and will take place Tuesday 13 February commencing at 8.30am in the Preparatory School Staff room. If you are interested in attending, and can attend in person, please RSVP your attendance here. If you would like to join virtually, please refer to your son’s Year Group notices on CCGS World closer to the event for the livestream link.
As part of the School’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of our boys, all parents have access to SchoolTV. SchoolTV provides schools with a range of comprehensive resources to assist with educating and empowering parents to best support student wellbeing. The website publishes articles, research and case studies on varied topics throughout the year and can be accessed here.
Many of our classes took part in a Chinese learning about the Year of the Dragon in the Global studies room as a way of celebrating the Chinese New Year which takes place this Saturday. Happy New Year – 新年快乐.
