Recently all the Year 6 boys participated in a Study Skills session as a part of their transition experience for Year 2 2022. Mrs Sharyn Bana (Head of Biology in the Senior School) provided the boys with a session to help them learn about organisation, summarising and revision skills required to further assist them for next year. The session was highly engaging and the boys participated in range of activities to help them prepare for the journey ahead.
On Monday, the Year 5 students were fortunate to have Mrs Caroline Spencer speak to the boys about her important role as Auditor-General of Western Australia. As the boys are learning about Civics and Citizenship in their Humanities learning area this semester, it was a timely opportunity for the Year 5 boys to appreciate how the spending of public funds and resources are accounted for in Western Australia. This incursion evoked a wide range of questions from the audience, and we thank Mrs Spencer for providing us with her generous time and expertise to learn firsthand from an expert in the field.
The Pre-Primary to Year 3 boys conclude their swimming lessons this week and are all looking forward to displaying their new skills at the Pre-Primary to Year 2 Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 9 November. The boys have enjoyed small group sizes in the pool while being taught by experienced Kirby Swim Teachers.
The Telethon Institute is currently seeking students between 10 and 17 years of age who may wish to participate in a new research project with the Vaccine Trials Group.
