Tuesday saw our two swimming carnivals take place with many wondering if the weather would allow us to proceed. As it turned out, both carnivals went ahead with all boys enjoying the events. For our Pre-Primary to Year 2 boys, it was an opportunity to get into the House spirit and enjoy the day. The Year 3 to 6 carnival saw School records being broken, our PMC boys being celebrated with heroic efforts and some boys cheering themselves hoarse. Congratulations to Yonga for being named Champion House and Kearla for winning the House Spirit Shield. All Champion boys will receive their medals at our Sports Award Assembly this Friday.
There are a variety of initiatives in the library to help your son find his next great read. The ongoing library raffle and Reading Passports are an opportunity for boys to try a new genre, author, series and challenge themselves with something new. Reading rewards are drawn twice a term from the library raffle to further encourage our boys to become avid readers. Shelf Life, published every Week B, is another opportunity for boys to explore books their peers recommend and new books to the library. Boys can contribute to Shelf Life by writing their own book reviews. The latest edition of Shelf Life can be found here.
