This week our boys ran laps to raise funds for the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF). Thank you to the entire community for supporting the boys and CCF. Scott Neeson, the founder of CCF spoke to our boys recently and shared video messages from Cambodia, explaining how the funds they raise are being used to change the lives of many children in Cambodia. Our Senior School boys who attended last year’s tour also shared their experiences with our boys. This December, teachers Sally MacKinnon and Hailey Cox will attend the Service in Action (SIA) tour to Cambodia where they will offer professional skills development to staff at the Cambodian Children’s Fund. They will be accompanied by four ex-Preparatory boys and students from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School.
My thanks to Claire Donald and the other House co-ordinators for their organisation of this fundraiser and event. My thanks also to Brady Leckie for ensuring the boys could run their laps during Physical Education classes after the Lapathon Day was washed out for most.
Today the JPSSA Athletics team is competing at the State Athletics Stadium. I am sure the boys are performing with grit and determination and demonstrating the excellent sportsmanship expected at Christ Church.
