The importance of reading cannot be underestimated. In our busy lives with competing factors such as the PlayStation, Xbox and other digital devices, it can be a challenge to keep up good blocks of reading time at home. I believe it is essential to make books special and allow children to find books that interest them, but at the same time challenge their habits. We often refer to the reading diet of young children and how important it is to mix things up with a selection of texts. Encourage your sons to pick up other books, series, or even ask our wonderful library team for help.

I would like to congratulate Sam Hurworth, Euan Strachan, Henry Gibb, Callum Chadbund, William Lewis, Nicholas Tien, Oscar Ho, Ashnuwin Vijayandran, Jacob Moffet and Lucas Vialla who traveled to Brisbane for the National Future Problem Solvers competition with Mrs Wisker and Mrs Morrison Mayo. Additionally, congratulations to William Lewis who placed 1st and Oscar Ho 2nd in the MAGIC groups. Overall, the team placed 7th in the GIPS. Well done to both our Year 5 and 6 teams who participated in the da Vinci Decathlon – the Year 5 team placed 2nd.

A reminder that Term 4 is summer uniform comprising of blue shorts, striped shirt and no tie. Boys are required to wear their formal uniform to assembly each Friday, consisting of the white shirt and tie, grey shorts and blazer.

All boys who participated in the ICAS testing will receive their login details to access their results. Certificates will also be distributed in the coming weeks. Well done to all the boys who took part!

Congratulations to the Building Good Men recipients for this week.

Finally, it is great to see our swimming program for Term 4 up and running, with our Early Years boys enjoying having their lessons in the Christ Church pool.
