Our Year 6 Future Problem Solvers recently took part in the 2019 National Finals of the Future Problem Solving (FPS) Program at Moreton Bay College, Brisbane.

FPS is an international educational program for students of all ages, focusing on the development of critical, creative and futuristic thinking skills and equipping them with the vision, skills and tools to design and promote positive futures for the society in which they live.

Year 6 student William Lewis commented, “Having just arrived back from one of the most memorable experiences, I would have to say the FPS tour is a high of Year 6.”‘

“We caught an early plane to Brisbane to attend the National Finals and soon after we arrived we took part in an opening ceremony, allowing us the opportunity to meet other schools.”

“We were the only school from WA who managed to get through to the finals in our category, so we were very proud.”

“Although the competition was tough, we managed to come 1st and 2nd place in the mixed team MAGIC competition and 7th place in the Global Issues Problem Solving team. In addition to this, we performed three-minute skit performances which was lots of fun.”

“We made new friends, had a great time and enjoyed the experience.”
