It is with great excitement that our Principal has announced the early commencement of our new Preparatory School building! The early commencement should result in an earlier completion and therefore our boys will enjoy the new facilities and opportunities sooner than predicted.

We know how important space is for boys and how much they enjoy running and playing outdoors. During the building phase the boys will continue to have access to the majority of the Prep School oval and the swings and blue web remain in place. Boys will also be able to use the Senior School oval net area and access the Chapel forecourt grassed area and the Blue Gym. I have already witnessed the boys adapting to the conditions and utilising the new spaces with their usual exuberance.

Our new building has been designed with the sole focus of teaching boys. The size of the spaces, the lighting, and sound and temperature control, have all been designed with backing research and our experience in mind. The Pre-Kindergarten to Pre-Primary boys will have classes that open directly onto an engaging and innovative space that is new, and maintains all the things that we know boys love and enjoy outdoors. Similarly, the Years 1 to 3 classes will open directly onto the oval or open space. The Years 4 to 6 classes take the top floor and offer large, flexible learning spaces.

We have a new and central Library Resource Centre that will also be a social hub on campus. New spaces include two classes for the Centre for Excellence and an Innovation space fitted with amazing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) equipment.

If you wish to speak to me about the new building, feel free to do so at any time. Apart from this being an amazing new space, we also know that what is important about the Prep School is its culture that will continue to be embraced. We will still emphasize the positive and productive relationships between staff and boys and make learning fun, challenging and engaging.
