Close to $1500 was raised through Forrest House’s recent annual fundraiser for Youth Focus.

The ‘Mo and Tacky Tie’ fundraiser involved all boys in the Preparatory School and set out to drive awareness around positive mental health, healthy life choices and encouraging boys to form good habits early in life.

“During the week, boys had the opportunity to show their support by purchasing a fake moustache from our Forrest Captains or by wearing a wacky, tacky tie to school for a kind donation,” said Head of Forrest House, Heath Pozzi.

“As a result, we had the great pleasure of presenting Youth Focus with a generous cheque. Youth Focus are exceptional in the way they work with kids and support kid’s mental health in our community.”

“At Christ Church, we believe in partnering with our community to raise boys and research shows that students who experience a nurturing environment and emotional, social and physical support are more likely to experience positive wellbeing and reach their full potential.”

“It was good fun for all involved, especially those who had to borrow grandad’s most daggy tie!

Year 6 student Benjamin Rollason commented, “I enjoyed wearing the moustache but I don’t think I will ever grow one myself. It’s more of a 70s thing.”
