In just under two weeks, The Midnite Youth Theatre Company will venture Into the Woods at Studio Underground with the acclaimed Tony Award winning musical classic by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.

In this retelling of the classic fairy tales of Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Cinderella as they find themselves wandering in the same dark woods. Linking the various fairytales together is the Baker and his wife, who search for items to lift a spell that has been cast upon them.

“Perth celebrates incredible talent and this production is set to showcase emerging young performers aged from 18 to 25 years in a spectacular way,” says Midnite’s Artistic Director, Gregory Jones.

“This witty and theatrical production features wonderful lyrics and songs including Children Will Listen, Agony and No One Is Alone. Based on the book, the production is smart with ideas that are timeless and relevant to everyone. Ultimately, it teaches us the power of wishes and what really happens after they come true.”

“What is most enchanting about this production is the energy and humour that this young cast brings to the stage and we look forward to sharing this with audiences across four nights of amazing performances.”

Into the Woods runs from 28 November to 1 December (including matinee on Saturday 1 December) at Studio Underground, State Theatre Centre of Western Australia. Tickets are selling fast – secure yours now by clicking here.
