The Week of the Arts is an annual occurrance for all to enjoy, featuring an exciting program of events and a celebration of the artistic talent and diversity of boys in our Prep School.

Sunday afternoon marked the launch of the 2017 Week of the Arts with a music concert, drama performance and art exhibition. Families of Prep School boys gathered in the Chapel to enjoy a number of ensemble performances by our String Orchestra, Prep School Choir, Yahoos, Concert Band, and Guitar and Percussion Ensemble.

Monday and Tuesday saw Year 6 boys perform in the Pirates of the Curry Bean matinee, a musical featuring colourful characters and sparkling songs.

Year 6 fathers and sons gathered on Wednesday morning for the Year 6 Father/Significant other and Son Breakfast and learning journey. The breakfast provided Year 6 boys and their fathers with a range of challenging activities to tackle in pairs.

“We have over 3,000 members of the community come to the School during this week to celebrate the work of the boys in all facets of school life, but particularly the Arts. This year’s Spring Music Concert, class concerts, Year 6 production, House Shout and art exhibition are all exceptional examples of how we authentically value and develop the whole boy,” says Head of the LW Parry Preparatory School, Mr Richard Wright.

With the Week of the Arts still in progress, the boys now look forward to this afternoon’s House Shout competition as each House battles it out with vocal talent in the Chapel.

The week concludes with our annual Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day with over 500 guests expected to visit the campus.
