Our Year 6s are enjoying their newest responsibility of looking out for their peers.

Term 2 saw the launch of a brand-new initiative which involves the Year 6s supervising our younger students during recess and lunch breaks.

Boys who participate assist Pre-Kindergarten to Year 3 boys in the Preparatory School’s playground spaces.

“The Year 6 boys are rostered once per fortnight with two friends and have the opportunity to wear the high-visibility uniform,” says Deputy Head (Pastoral) of Preparatory School, Mrs Kim Morcom.

“It has been wonderful to watch our Year 6 supervisors interact with the younger boys, assist them in conflict resolution and show them different ways to play.”

“Boys learn by demonstration, so this is a great opportunity for our Year 6s to serve as role models, develop a sense of responsibility and provide service to the school community.”

The Preparatory School looks forward to carrying this new initiative into the future.
