Mathematics is a popular subject at Christ Church Grammar School and the boys have great success in the area. Each year, enthusiastic mathematicians take part in numerous competitions, including the Mathematics Association of WA’s Have Sum Fun competition.

Competing against 27 teams from Perth, the Years 5 and 6 boys have a great time working together to solve opened ended problems in a vibrant and stimulating environment.

This year, the Christ Church A team took out first place following four challenging rounds and a tiebreaker against Hale. Christ Church B finished equal ninth and Christ Church C was equal sixth, a great achievement for all involved.

“Have Sum Fun was a great experience for us. We enjoyed competing against the other teams and it was really exciting when we won the tiebreaker and got first place,” said Co-Captains of the A team, Matthew Bailey and Sean Morgan.
