Last Thursday, Christ Church Grammar School welcomed over 40 students from a number of local schools to compete in The FUSE Cup e-sports championship, the first of its kind ever held in Western Australia.

The FUSE Cup is a nationwide network of schools connected in providing young students with an opportunity to participate in a safe, supportive and structured national e-sports competition while developing positive gaming behaviours and digital wellbeing.

The atmosphere was electric in Sandover Hall as each team’s racers put their skills to the test in a Mario Kart Grand Prix.
In between heats, the students also learned about digital wellbeing, how to stay safe online and the risks of too much gaming.
After accumulating points over a series of tightly contested heats, the final four included Frederick Dharsono (Year 8) from Christ Church and three students from Yidarra Catholic Primary School.
