Bishop Kate inspires students on Archbishop’s Day
Published on: 16 October 2025
Each year, Christ Church hosts Archbishop’s Day where the Archbishop of Perth visits our school community, inspiring spiritual reflection and a deeper connection to our history and Anglican faith. Our 2025 Archbishop’s Day occurred yesterday, and while Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy was unable to be with us this year, we were blessed with the presence of the Assistant Bishop of Perth, The Right Reverend Kate Wilmot.
Bishop Kate’s visit provided a meaningful opportunity for students, parents and staff to engage with a respected leader of the Church. Her presence enriched the day’s events, adding spiritual depth and purpose to the occasion.
As the Year 12 students approach the end of their school journey, a special chapel service and morning tea were held in their honour, alongside their mothers. The Eucharist was beautifully led by Bishop Kate, assisted by School Chaplain Nicholas Russell.
During her visit, Bishop Kate also spent time with a Year 10 Religion class, where students participated in a thoughtful Q&A session. They had the rare opportunity to ask questions about her role in the Church and learn more about her personal journey and experiences.
Later in the morning, she met with our new prefects, offering encouragement and guidance as they prepare to step into their leadership roles.
The School community extends its heartfelt thanks to Bishop Kate for her time, wisdom, and the inspiration she shared with our students.
