Ten Christ Church cadets proudly represented the School on Sunday at the Tobruk Memorial in Kings Park, supporting the 85th anniversary of the Siege of Tobruk.
Volunteering their time, the cadets played an important role in the service. Their involvement continues a tradition that began in 2003, when the Christ Church cadet unit became custodians of the memorial.
Cadet Under Officer Samuel Porter (Year 12) delivered a powerful address with confidence and maturity. Fellow cadets served as Flag Marshals under the guidance of the Company Sergeant Major, carrying out their roles with precision and respect.
Reflecting on the occasion, Officer Commanding Captain (AAC) Robert Coales (’93) said the ceremony was “a living example of young men choosing to serve.”
“These ten cadets stepped forward voluntarily, showing respect for those who came before them and ensuring their legacy is carried into the future. That spirit of service defines this unit and Christ Church.”
