Last weekend, Head Swimming Coach Will Greenwood, accompanied by three talented swimmers from the Christ Church swim team, travelled to Broome to host a swimming clinic designed to enhance the skills of young local swimmers.

Delivered in partnership with the Broome Barracudas Swim Club, the clinic was open to boys and girls aged 10 to 15 and focused on refining technique and enhancing race performance. Participants also gained valuable insight into the training methods used at state and national levels, offering them a broader perspective on competitive swimming.

“This clinic was a fantastic opportunity for our team to give back to the local swimming community and inspire the next generation of swimmers,” said Mr Greenwood. “The smiles on everyone’s faces said it all—it was an unforgettable experience. We’re excited to run more clinics like this in the future.”

Christ Church has a proud tradition of excellence in the pool, having secured seven of the last nine PSA Swimming titles. This visit not only showcased the team’s expertise but also allowed our student swimmers to grow as leaders and mentors—an important aspect of their development this in and out of the water.

The initiative further strengthens the School’s connection with the Broome community and reflects Christ Church’s ongoing commitment to excellence and meaningful community engagement.

A sincere thank you to Will Greenwood, Sarah Boulton, Lochlan Penegar (Year 12), Sam Hicks (Year 12), and Charlie Spencer (Year 11) for your outstanding contribution over the weekend.
