On Wednesday 9 September, the Year 12 Drama class performed their scripted monologues and original solo productions in preparation for their trial and WACE examinations.

Monte Nathan, Ellis Ormonde, Gareth Shanthikumar, Carlin Shelton and Rohan Singh performed to a full house, portraying a mix of personas including a private investigator, civil rights protestor, victim of disaster and a man with dreams to travel to the moon.

Throughout the evening, three judges assessed the boys’ performances, providing feedback that will allow them to further develop their work.

It was a great evening had by all, with an audience of interested family and friends, as well as Drama students from other schools, eager to see their peers’ work.

“This year’s drama program has offered an excellent balance of individualism and teamwork. Creating our own original solo productions has been highly challenging and rewarding.” Ellis Ormonde (Year 12)

“Drama at CCGS has not only taught me the vast world of theatre, and all its complexities, it has granted me with excellent personal skills, and has allowed me to be confident with the way I present myself in the everyday world.” Gareth Shanthikumar (Year 12)
