Over 2000 attendees were drawn to the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia between 3 to 5 August to witness the impressive and colourful production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the Biblical story of ‘Joseph’, his 11 brothers and the coat of many colours in a magical musical full of unforgettable songs.

Presented by our Midnite Youth Theatre Company, the production attracted plenty of praise as audiences were in awe of the visual spectacle, costumes, lighting and the incredible talent on stage.

“Congratulations to all involved in this fantastic production – the performances were incredible and we just loved everything about it,” said Christ Church Facebook page follower, Catie Robins. “Last night’s performance was fantastic! The energy and new age spin on an old classic was refreshing and so entertaining. The costumes, props and choreography were first class,” said Christ Church teacher, Renee Whitcher.

Past Midnite performers and previous Joseph cast members Bodi Ledwij, Angus Willoughby and Erin Hutchinson were amongst notable guests who came to watch the production in its third adaptation, having first been staged in 1999 and then again in 2007.

The Midnite Youth Theatre Company now prepare for their next musical production of Pirates of the Curry Bean, being played at Christ Church Grammar School’s Drama Centre from 18 to 20 September.
