From the scent of freshly made crêpes and raclette to the challenge of a chopstick competition, Languages Week has transformed campus into a celebration of global cultures.

Throughout the week, students have immersed themselves in hands-on experiences that bring languages to life, from making Chinese dumplings and Japanese bento boxes to karate and kung fu workshops, pétanque, haiku writing, fan painting and a range of cultural challenges.

Language learning has extended well beyond the classroom, encouraging students to explore new perspectives while building curiosity, confidence and cultural awareness.

Next week, students from Christ Church and Methodist Ladies’ College will come together for the annual Languages Quiz, a fun, annual tradition that tests knowledge of languages and cultures while fostering friendly competition between the two schools.
