James Blaxill and Nick Ceglinski had great success in their French studies this year, placing in the top 20 students in Western Australia.

Due to their outstanding abilities in the areas of listening, reading and writing, the boys were tested on their speaking skills. This activity was only awarded to the state’s top 20 and included a 15-minute conversation with a French examiner.

“The Languages Department and Christ Church Grammar School are very proud of their endeavours. We are looking forward to the Alliance Française prize-giving ceremony on 4 November, where we will also be celebrating our poetry finalist winners,” said Linda Curlewis, Senior French Teacher.

Rohan Maloney (Year 10) has been commended on his German language skills following his success in the statewide German DAS exams where in placed in the top five in WA.

Rohan was invited to a special ceremony held at Methodist Ladies’ College where he was presented with a certificate by Torsten Ketelsen, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany.
